How about the iPhone quality of these photos?? Ugh. You really don’t realize how nice your dslr is until you only have your phone available. And it’s raining, which = terrible quality.

This is from our rainy day in Salem. Had to make a stop at a Walgreen’s for umbrellas and ponchos, and it was soooo cold. And my feet were wet. And gross.

I opted to pack this polka dot denim jacket because even though it was polka dot patterned, I figured it would be versatile enough to go with most of my outfits on the trip.

And these flowers were really pretty and happened to match my floral jeans! As big of a trend this has been lately, this was my first day to ever wear mine. I think I like them! Plus, this specific pair is currently marked down to 75% off on the website!

Have a great Wednesday. I’m headed down South for some house and job hunting. Wish me luck, and be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Good morning! I’m back from Boston and back in this Louisiana heat and humidity! These photos are from a day spent in Plymouth and Cape Cod. Unfortunately, it was a rainy, cold weekend (hence the jacket), but you can see the sun finally came out in some in some of these photos, and it ended up being such a nice day. Pretty sure I’m retiring in Plymouth/Cape Cod and opening a bed & breakfast when I’m like 65+. Who’s with me?

Continue having a happy Monday! I’m headed to the pool to enjoy this 90 degree weather again. Be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Splurge vs. Save: Elephant Parade Necklace

Splurge vs Save Elephany Parade Necklace

I haven’t done a ‘Splurge vs. Save’ post in two years (give or take a few months), but this deal was too good not to share. While shopping at a Forever 21 in Boston, I stumbled upon this adorable little Elephant Parade necklace. When I got back to the hotel and started browsing online, I randomly found another Elephants On Parade necklace-except it was $130 more expensive than the Forever 21 version.

Both are so adorable, so it’s a tough choice. I love everything elephant. The $140 elephant necklace would surly last longer, but the Forever 21 is still an adorable alternative.

Which would you wear??

Happy Tuesday! Only three more days of school for me until it’s summer!! I’m so ready to be spending my days laying by the pool catching up on cheesy teen lit and my tan.

Unfortunately, I’m spending the next few days moving out of my house. Everything I own is going in storage until I can find a new place (thanks to my landlady deciding she wanted her house back). It’s going to be difficult to be a fashion blogger with no closet. But we will make it work!

On to my outfit… This coral color is huge for the summer. No secret about that. On Forever 21′s website it calls it “Red” but I definitely think it’s more corral-y. Unless I’m just colorblind. If so, y’all tell me now so I stop embarrassing myself.

This dress also comes in mint (another huge spring/summer color). Belt included, and for less than $25! And I love the polka dot print!

A while back I posted a few stripes and neon outfit collages. And today, my outfit finally happened in real life! With the bright neon yellow skirt, I wanted to make sure I had some sun on my legs before I blinded you guys.

I have two papers due and a final tomorrow, so today’s post is short & sweet. I’m about to lose my mind, and stressed out Leslie isn’t good for anyone.

Have a fabulous Tuesday, and be sure to keep up with Southern Flair on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Trend: Above-the-Knuckle Rings

Knuckle Rings1. obaz | 2. Shopbop | 3. Forever 21

Wearing knuckle rings is quickly becoming one of my favorite trends for the spring and summer. I love how it adds that edgy side to your outfit. I tend to stick to two main rings that I wear daily. So knuckle rings work great for me because I can wear them in addition to my usual rings. I do, however, like this style when worn with only one or two rings instead of a ton. I definitely think there’s a thing as “too much” for this look. Don’t ya think?

Have you been trying this trend? Thoughts??

Two things I learned from taking these photos: 1.) Always check for creepy homeless men lurking behind buildings first. 2.) Find a location without grass or trees during pollen season. (Thankfully, you can’t really tell I was sneezing between every photo and carrying tissue in my back pocket.)

Onto today’s outfit: I was very excited when I found these pants at Forever 21 for less than $20! I’d had my eye on these stripe skinny jeans from Topshop (at $80), so you really can’t beat the price of the Forever 21 pair. I thought about pairing them with a black top, but I decided to add a pop of color with this bright casual tee from Charming Charlie. They had all sorts of colors to chose from. I’m on a plain t-shirt kick right now for whatever reason, so I bought a couple.

Hope everyone continues to have a happy Monday! My students are standardized testing this week wooo…

Spring Denim

This all-denim outfit is really about the accessories. Without the accessories and with some flats, it’s a comfortable outfit for running errands or going to class. I dressed it up with some pumps and jewelry for Jean-Day Friday at work. I just wish I wasn’t forced to wear long sleeves this time of year. As you can see, it’s SO pretty outside, but what is with this cold weather in Louisiana right now?? I better not complain. I’ll have plenty of sweating-my-butt-off months very soon.

Have a happy Wednesday. I’m off to study for a 5 o’clock test! Wish me luck!

After a rainy weekend, it was a perfect day to get off work and have HOURS of daylight left. And I was also excited to wear three new things at once! I’ve been waiting for a nice pretty day to wear my new floral blazer, and it went perfect with these new blue Cosmopolitan wedges from JCPenney and Target clutch. Now I’ve just got to work on this tan…

These shoes are the exact reason why I will have my own episode of Hoarders one day (probably sooner than I’d like). I’ve had these shoes since high school — a good 8-9 years — and this is the first time I’ve worn them in several years. I battle this irrational fear of throwing something out when I may want to wear it 5-10 years from now. So unhealthy, I’m sure. I guess this is the same reason I haven’t thrown a magazine away since 1999…

Also, I’m kind of over the Oscar talk since they lasted for.ev.er last night, but Stacy Keibler wins best dressed in my book in this Naeem Khan gown. I loooove it. Who gets your vote?
