I know you’ve been seeing these woven bracelets everywhere. I love these because you can stack on as many as you want and there are so many different styles and colors. They are kind of the adult version of friendship bracelets except much cooler! And you can spend as much as you’d like from a couple of bucks to a small fortune on designer bracelets. There are also some great DIY tutorials on Pinterest!

What do you think about this trend? Are you layering your arm up? Or wearing one or two for a more simple look?

Mint + Coral

I know I’ve mentioned my love for mint a lot the past couple of weeks, but I especially love it paired with coral (even though mine appears to be pink…) It’s a bright combo — so fun and perfect for summer. I wore them with my Cynthia Vincent wedges from Target. Actually, the top and mint skinny jeans also came from Target. I might have a slight obsession.

Aaand speaking of Target: WWD reported today that Target and Neiman Marcus are collaborating on a holiday collection which will include Marc Jacobs, Alice + Olivia, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch & lots lots more!! The collab comes out Dec. 1! I know what I’m putting on my Christmas list!

Hope you continue to have a fabulous Tuesday!!

InstaSummer (so far…)

Summers off as a teacher aren’t exactly the most exciting things ever. Most of my days have been spent lounging by the pool, watching Vampire Diaries on Netflix, spending countless hours on Pinterest and reading questionable literature while my friends are busy being adults at their jobs. OK so maybe summers off aren’t all that bad. I have had extra time to spend on my poor neglected blog. Here are some photos of my summer break so far… Will post pics from my vacation in San Francisco soon!

Goodbye, school. See you in August.

Went to the beach with teacher friends and had a fabulous time Sang lots of ’80s hits and Taylor Swift — always a good time.

I bought these fun Mossimo wedges from Target

…and this Kate Spade watch and purple and gold Marc Jacobs watch

In LOOOVE with my new leopard shoes!

Is anyone else reading the Fifty Shades series? Kinda addicting… I just started the third book!

Turquoise & orange

I’ve spent lots of days at Starbucks “doing homework” for my summer class. But that mostly ends up with me on Pinterest pretending I have a huge house to decorate or a future wedding. Alas, I do not

Hope you’ve been having a fabulous summer so far.

Louisiana Crawfish Casserole

I found this recipe on Pinterest the other day and had to try it! I’ve never actually cooked with crawfish until now, and even with the frozen crawfish from Walmart, this dish turned out great. It makes a ton, which left me with lots of leftovers for the week!

You can find the original recipe on Food.com. I cut out the celery (mainly because I don’t eat celery) and added a little Tony Chachere’s seasoning for even more flavor! I was a little worried about the rice cooking, but the extra 15 minutes for the cheese was the perfect amount of extra time

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb crawfish tails (I used frozen)
  • 1 can french onion soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes and chilies
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 cup chopped celery (which I left out)
  • salt & pepper
  • Tony Chachere’s seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cup monterey jack cheese

1. Mix all ingredients except the cheese into a 9×13 baking dish.
2. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
3. Uncover and sprinkle cheese on top of casserole.
4. Bake an additional 15 minutes.
5. Enjoy!

Outfits Inspired by OKC Thunder

Post 1 of 2: Click here for the Heat-inspired post

Usually in my sports-themed posts I stick to supporting my Louisiana teams, but since the Saints, Tigers or Hornets didn’t make it to the NBA Finals this year, I figured I could branch out.

Today I’ll focus on the Oklahoma City Thunder and hopefully give you some outfit ideas to support your team. If you’re a Heat fan, be sure to check back tomorrow

**Note: I am in no way endorsing either team or pretending I actually have a clue about basketball.

Enjoy.

ACM Red Carpet Looks

If you’ve been browsing the Internet today, you may have seen some pictures from last night’s ACM awards in Las Vegas. I have the show waiting on my DVR to be watched tonight, but I wanted to post some of my favorite and not-so-favorite looks that I’ve seen so far.

Favorites:
Little Taylor is all grown up! I love her (seriously, she’s my favorite. Ever.) and this J. Mendel gown. She looks so shiny! Favorite look of the night.

Carrie Underwood — stunning as usual.

I’m really not that fond of Miranda’s dress here (it kind of reminds me of a metallic snake), but I love them together. So they make the favorites list as a pair. I would like this look even better if it were me instead of her on Blake’s arm….

Worst Looks:

She looks great, but the dress is pretty awful. I’m not feeling the fuchsia and fringe. Sorry, Carrie.

Is that mesh?

Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town. I can’t really tell if it’s weird stripes or Tiger print or somewhere in between. No. Just no. I love your music, though
