15 backpacks perfect for fall and back-to-school

Monday, July 28th, 2014

It wasn’t until my Europe trip a few weeks ago that I realized how much I have been missing out on the convenience of backpacks in my life. I hadn’t carried a backpack since high school (and I think I thought I was too cool then, so I really just carried an over-sized purse), but backpacks are becoming one of this fall’s biggest bag trends! They’re perfect for carrying laptops to the coffee shop, cameras, notebooks or whatever you may need for your daily adventures (or blogging and teaching adventures for me). I’m thinking my Mossimo Tiger Backpack from Target will come in handy for this coming school year!

Shop my 15 favorite backpacks below and don’t forget to share your favorites!

Fashion Blogger Flower Power

Photos

One of my favorite current spring fashion blogger trends is carrying flowers (especially tulips!) in handbags. And you can bet on seeing my version in an upcoming outfit post! It’s totally not realistic to carry flowers as accessories, but it’s just pretty and the cool thing to do :)

It’s been so “cold” (60 degrees) the past few days, so these pretty flowers and photos are much needed to get me excited about my Easter and Spring Break… which starts at 3 p.m.! Ok, so I really don’t need the photos to be excited, but still. Only three (very rambunctious) classes of 7th graders stand between me and a week of relaxing and doing a whole lot of nothing. This teacher is just as excited as the kiddos.

p.s. My blog went down SEVEN times yesterday. I posted what was probably my favorite outfit to date, so if you missed it thanks to technical issues, check it out here!

Moss Green Trend for Fall 2013

At this point, let’s just consider moss green a neutral. It’s one of fall’s biggest colors, and it goes with everything. And as you can see from the items above, everything from boots and bags to accessories and makeup comes in this lovely shade of green. Definitely one of my fall favorites!

It also makes a great color for the Thanksgiving holidays. I’m headed to my hometown today, so this post is short and sweet. I’ve been painting aaaallll break so far. This new house is well on its way though! Maybe by summer it will be finished hah!

Check back tomorrow for Black Friday-Cyber Monday deals, and be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest! And don’t forget to follow the Southern Flair Holiday Gift Guide on Pinterest!

SHOP Accessory Mercado

Sunday, November 3rd, 2013

Did you ever watch Blue’s Clues? Lately, I’ve been getting the “Mail Song” stuck in my head. “Here’s the mail. It never fails. It makes me wanna wag my tail…” Remember that? No? Maybe?

Anyway, I’ve just been really excited to check my mail lately (weird, I know), and I can’t wait to show you some of the fun, fall trends that have been arriving via the postal service (or Fedex.. or something).

I’m too excited about this amazing necklace from Accessory Mercado that I couldn’t even wait to share it in an outfit post. I had to share it now. (Outfit post coming soon!)

Accessory Mercado is an accessory flash sale on Facebook and Instagram. They offer amazing designer-inspired pieces and great prices. The flash sales begin every Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at noon. There are limited quantities, so the first person to comment gets the goods. AND all items ship free!

Are flash sales on Facebook something you participate in? I’ve done a couple and they’re so much fun. After seeing Accessory Mercado’s fall lookbook, I’ll definitely be ready on Wednesday nights!

Have a happy Sunday! Be sure to follow SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Would you wear a leather baseball cap?

Saturday, November 2nd, 2013

This is one of those things that I find so chic and trendy, but at the same time I know I could never pull it off. I would always refuse to wear our team’s visor at softball games, and when I was in band I’d take off that ugly hat as soon as possible. Hats just aren’t my thing.

But that’s not to say that I’m not super jealous of everyone who can pull off this trend. Because I am. What do you think? Is a leather baseball cap something you’re adding to your look this fall?
