Fall Fringe and Leather

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014

Good morning, y’all! It almost got cool enough to wear jeans this past weekend! So I’m officially excited for fall and couldn’t wait to break out the leather and this long-sleeve fringe top! Fringe and leather are definitely the two biggest fall trends I’m most excited about-especially paired together. This is my idea of a perfect fall transition outfit! Plus, y’all know I’m a sucker for fun sleeves! Shop similar items below and some of my favorite leather pieces!

Ethnic and tribal prints have also been quite popular this past season and leading into the fall. The bold colors and patterns are taking over everything from my wardrobe and home decor to my iPhone case and jewelry. I have several Aztec print and embroidered tops, skirts, and tanks that I’ll transition into the fall months until I can replace them with tribal-print scarves and cardigans. With such statement pieces as these, wear lighter accessories and jewelry.

Tiger Sweater Weather

Sweater: Forever 21 | Faux Leather Leggings c/o Legwear Loft | Prabul Grunge wedges: Target | Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson

LSU plays Alabama this weekend just in time for a little cool sweater weather. This is one of many tiger face sweaters I’ve added to my closet lately. I like this look because it’s not the traditional game day purple and gold, but it’s still school spirited.

And yes, these are my new favorite leggings from Legwear Loft. Earlier in the week, I mentioned that I was a bit skeptical of wearing all leather leggings or pants, but I’m finding that I want to pair these with everything lately, including all my tiger sweaters.

What are you pairing your leather leggings with this fall? Have a happy Thursday and be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Would you wear a leather baseball cap?

This is one of those things that I find so chic and trendy, but at the same time I know I could never pull it off. I would always refuse to wear our team’s visor at softball games, and when I was in band I’d take off that ugly hat as soon as possible. Hats just aren’t my thing.

But that’s not to say that I’m not super jealous of everyone who can pull off this trend. Because I am. What do you think? Is a leather baseball cap something you’re adding to your look this fall?

Black Leather Skater Skirt

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013

As soon as I saw this black leather Banana Republic skirt in the September issue of Vogue, I knew I had to have it in my closet. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be. After searching at the local Banana Republics, I got some sad news that they were all sold out online and the closest skirt was in Dallas and they didn’t have my size

So if you fell in love with the same skirt trend for the fall, I’ve got some alternatives for you today that are actually a bit more inexpensive than the Banana Republic version.

1. Topshop | 2. H&M | 3. Boohoo | 4. John Lewis | 5. Debenhams | 6. House of Frasser

Is the leather mini skirt trend something you’re trying for fall? Have a great Wednesday and be sure to keep up with Southern Flair on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!
