How to wear a floral crop top

Monday, March 24th, 2014

Product Information: Full Course Load Bag from Modcloth | Christine sandals from Sole Society | Essie Nail Polish from Nordstrom | Gold Collar Necklace from BaubleBar | Pale Pink Wrap Skirt from Topshop | Floral Crop Top from Warehouse

And we’re back to a normal week of blog posts! And I’m back to a normal life with Internet. It’s been more difficult without Internet than I am proud to admit that’s for sure.

Crop tops were everywhere at NOLA Fashion Week, so they’ve definitely been on my mind. I wanted this outfit to be as springy as possible with light pastels and trendy sandals. How do you style your crop tops?

Shop Today’s Groopdealz Pick: Elephant Necklace

Sunday, March 9th, 2014

Product Information: Elephant Necklaces from Groopdealz | Cleobella Jumpsuit from Shopbop | Colorblock wedges from Sole Society | Faux Leather Jacket from Oasis | Chevron Cuff from BaubleBar

Guess how much these elephant necklaces are! Only $2.99. That’s just another reason I love Groopdealz. They currently have so many fun spring items in the daily deals and Boutique, so it was hard to choose today’s pick! But I have a slight obsession with elephants, so I had to style these necklaces.

Have a great Sunday. I’ve got lots of coming up this week with local brands that I’m excited to share :)

The Hashtag Fashion Trend

hashtag-shoes2

The hashtag is coming off our Twitter and Instagram feeds and on to our clothing and accessories. Or mine is at least. I’ve been wearing these Kohl’s loafers nonstop lately, and they’ve proven to be a big hit with my middle schoolers (and it’s very hard to impress 7th graders… trust me). I’ve even had grown men stop me in the mall and at Starbucks to compliment my shoes. I think I’m on to something here, y’all.

Another one of my favorite accessories for a while has been my BCBG #SF affirmation bracelet. If anything, it’s a good conversation starter. It comes in the size you see and a mini pack if you want to switch up your expressions.

What are your thoughts? Would you wear hashtag accessories?

Shop Today’s Groopdealz Pick: Heather Riding Boots

Friday, February 28th, 2014

Product Information: Heather Riding Boots from Groopdealz | Zoom Bisou Top from Modcloth | Sky Blue Jeans from Topshop | Emily Cross Body Bag from Oasis | Mustard Circle Scarf from Modcloth | Dahlia Stud Earrings from BaubleBar

It’s Mardi Gras weekend!! I tried to make this outfit as Mardi-Gras-like as possible for any last minute ideas you may need. At this time of year, it’s acceptable to throw anything together that has a little purple, green, or gold on it.

I chose to feature these Groopdealz riding boots today because boots are a necessity when it comes to parades. Trust me, you do not want open toe shoes or even slip-on flats. Your feet will not like you. Boots are a good way to not have to watch where you are stepping, and you don’t want to be tiptoeing around all the trash and who knows what on the streets.

A satchel or cross body bag is also good for parades to carry what you’ll really need and nothing else. Parades are crowded, so these bags are just the safer option, and you’ll be much happier not lugging around bigger bags.

Do you have Mardi Gras plans this weekend? What’s your go-to parade attire?

Puppy Love

Tuesday, February 18th, 2014

Product Information: Chihuahua sweater from JCPenney | Fur vest from JCPenney | Faux Leather Front Leggings from JCPenney (on clearance!) | Princess Vera Wang Smoking Flats from Kohl’s | My BF Bracelet from Accessory Mercado | Statement Necklace from Forever 21 (similar here and here)

Can you see the teeny tiny bit of ice on the ground??! That was enough to shut Baton Rouge down for DAYS a few weeks ago! Yesterday it was almost 80 degrees outside, so I’m hoping this will be the last “winter” outfit. I’ve had enough of the cold for this year, but I will miss my sweaters and fur vests. The chihuahua sweater and vest are both I ‘Heart’ Ronson from JCPenney (which I’m a tad obsessed with) and the faux leather pants are Bisou Bisou also from JCPenney (so maybe I just have a JCPenney problem).
