So I finally have my Fourth of July outfit picked out, but still no clue what I’m actually doing for the holiday. What’s everyone else doing? Have your outfit picked out? This is as close to an American flag as I could get.

I picked up this JCrew necklace on the way home from the beach this weekend. I’ve been wanting a gold chunky chain necklace and finally found the perfect one-and at half off! Go snag that baby right now!

Hope you have a safe & happy Fourth of July! Be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

The cut out dress trend really scares me- mostly because a lot of dresses have the tummy area cut out. So I really liked that this dress was on trend but cut out the top and back- areas I’m more comfortable with. Also, I just loved the mixed patterns and colors. I feel like my first instinct was to pair the dress with black shoes and black accessories, but on second thought I decided to bring out the brighter summery colors (y’all know that’s a challenge for me).

I bought this clutch last week from candy apple :: a blog shop through a Facebook sale while driving down the road (not safe- I know, but I had to have it). I’ve always been hesitant to purchase things through Facebook, but now that I’ve done it and see how easy it is, it could be very dangerous for my checking account. It’s really all Paypal’s fault. It makes everything SO freakin’ easy. Like easy enough I can shop while driving.

I’m off to the beach this week with my bestie teacher friend and could not be more excited! Come on, Thursday! I only have two summery hats, so I’m on the prowl for a good deal this week before I go. I’m noticing lots of these options have been marked down (I guess because it’s already late June??), so I’m hoping to score some good finds in the stores.

Let’s all take a moment to look how adorable the Southern Charm Apparel monogram hat is though- for real. Super cute. It would look even better with a “LPP” on it . I follow them on Instagram and Facebook and have been drooling over their personalized items (especially these state govino glasses).

Which hat is your fav?

How about the iPhone quality of these photos?? Ugh. You really don’t realize how nice your dslr is until you only have your phone available. And it’s raining, which = terrible quality.

This is from our rainy day in Salem. Had to make a stop at a Walgreen’s for umbrellas and ponchos, and it was soooo cold. And my feet were wet. And gross.

I opted to pack this polka dot denim jacket because even though it was polka dot patterned, I figured it would be versatile enough to go with most of my outfits on the trip.

And these flowers were really pretty and happened to match my floral jeans! As big of a trend this has been lately, this was my first day to ever wear mine. I think I like them! Plus, this specific pair is currently marked down to 75% off on the website!

Have a great Wednesday. I’m headed down South for some house and job hunting. Wish me luck, and be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Good morning! I’m back from Boston and back in this Louisiana heat and humidity! These photos are from a day spent in Plymouth and Cape Cod. Unfortunately, it was a rainy, cold weekend (hence the jacket), but you can see the sun finally came out in some in some of these photos, and it ended up being such a nice day. Pretty sure I’m retiring in Plymouth/Cape Cod and opening a bed & breakfast when I’m like 65+. Who’s with me?

Continue having a happy Monday! I’m headed to the pool to enjoy this 90 degree weather again. Be sure to keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

A while back I posted a few stripes and neon outfit collages. And today, my outfit finally happened in real life! With the bright neon yellow skirt, I wanted to make sure I had some sun on my legs before I blinded you guys.

I have two papers due and a final tomorrow, so today’s post is short & sweet. I’m about to lose my mind, and stressed out Leslie isn’t good for anyone.

Have a fabulous Tuesday, and be sure to keep up with Southern Flair on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

OK, so this dress isn’t new. I’ve had it about a year. But I love the length. I’m only 5’2″ so finding a dress this style that doesn’t drag the ground is always a challenge. I’m also noticing how short the fronts of these high-low dresses are getting! Why is that a thing??!

So this dress is definitely perfect as far as length in the front and back. Definitely work-appropriate for the spring and summer. Oh that’s right.. I don’t work in the summer! Only a few weeks left and I’m free of my little rascals for a few months! I think I’m gonna make it.

Don’t forget about the giveaway happening through Monday. Enter to win a pair of Six Degrees Hair Ties!

I apologize for my absence! I wish I could say it wouldn’t happen again, but I have SO much school work to do before May 8. After that, I’ll be posting regularly again. Unless…. someone wants to write my literature review for me? Any takers?

I do have a few posts planned for next week including a giveaway with Six Degrees Hair Ties! You can win a pair just like the ones featured in today’s post. So be sure to check back Monday!

Swimsuits under $100

Swimsuits under $100Top: J.Crew | Middle: Target | Bottom: Topshop

Swimsuits are never something I like to splurge on. I’d rather have several new ones each summer than one expensive one. Most of the time I hit up Target (in January because they put out swimwear absurdly early), and get my top pick before it sells out. Then I’ll wait a little while and buy a few more leading up to and during the summer on sale.

I’m usually pretty picky on style though because (let’s face it) I need a little extra padding in the top and I HATE tan lines, so I like detachable straps. My bottoms have to come up high enough but not too high. And swimsuits that tie (bottoms or tops) just make me super nervous in general, and I find the knots really uncomfortable to lay on when tanning. OK, I didn’t realize I was that picky until just now. Geez.

Anyway, do you have your new swimsuit picked out? What’s your favorite place to shop for swimwear?
