Summer Trend: Floppy Beach Hats

Summer Beach Floppy Hat Trend

1. ASOS | 2. Southern Charm Apparel | 3. Swell | 4. Wet Seal | 5. Target |
6. Zappos | 7. House of Fraser | 8. ASOS | 9. Miss Selfridge | 10. W Concept

I’m off to the beach this week with my bestie teacher friend and could not be more excited! Come on, Thursday! I only have two summery hats, so I’m on the prowl for a good deal this week before I go. I’m noticing lots of these options have been marked down (I guess because it’s already late June??), so I’m hoping to score some good finds in the stores.

Let’s all take a moment to look how adorable the Southern Charm Apparel monogram hat is though- for real. Super cute. It would look even better with a “LPP” on it . I follow them on Instagram and Facebook and have been drooling over their personalized items (especially these state govino glasses).

Which hat is your fav?

Open Back Dress Trend + Big Announcement

Open Back Dress Trend

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

The thing I love about this trend is the variety. All five of these dresses have open backs but all are different. It’s really up to you if you want a lot of skin showing or just a little. Or at the top or the bottom. I think my favorite is the ASOS wrap dress (No. 4) with just a teeny tiny part of the back showing. Plus, one way to stay cool this summer is to just not have a back to your dress at all. Problem solved!

Now for the BIG announcement! On Tuesday I accepted a new teaching position in Baton Rouge, so it looks like I’m headed South again! I’ll be teaching 7th grade English at the most amazing school, and I could not be more excited to move back to BR where my little blog first began. But be prepared for future tweets/posts/Instagrams of stressed out Leslie making yet another move…

Spring/Summer Shoe Trend: Kitten Heels

Kitten Heels Trend

1. Kelby Open Toe Sandal from Sole Society |2. Metallic Leather Kitten Heel Pump from Bergdorf Goodman | 3. Nine West Leopard Kitten Heel from John Lewis | 4. Vamp Shoe with Ankle Strap from Zara | 5. Merista Kitten Heel Sandal from Shopbop | 6. Python Patent Kitten Heels from Chinese Laundry | 7. Sugar Cube Heels from ASOS | 8. Katrine Mid Heel Sandal from Sole Society | 9. Sonic Pointed Heels from ASOS | 10. Kate Spade Polka Dot Kitten Heel Pump from Bergdorf Goodman

Are these not the cutest little things you’ve ever seen? I didn’t realize I liked kitten heels so much until I started working on this post, and now I want them all! I only have a couple pairs of these mini heels, but I’m starting to notice them around more and more for the summer. This size is great for work or to wear with shorter dresses if the length is a problem.

Sometimes lower heels get a bad rep for being too “old lady” but come on… look how cute these are!

Hey, it’s Valentine’s Day. I thought lipstick kisses would be a little different than the usual hearts and xoxo’s. Some lips can get a little too Rocky Horror Picture Show for me, but I really like these and this is a trend that will last more than just today. I love this Maxnina top (and for only $12?? Whaaaat!)

Anyway, hope you have a fabulous Valentine’s Day! I’ll be taming children high on candy all day.

Four Valentine’s Day Outfits

Sometimes I feel like Mardi Gras overshadows Valentine’s Day here in Louisiana, which is OK by me. I’m not really a huge Valentine’s Day fan other than the themed candy. And the movie. I mean, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Ashton Kutcher, and Taylor Lautner- how could you not like that, right? But now I’m distracted and totally forget where I was going with this. I think the point is, these outfits are Valentine-themed and great whether you’re a fan of the holiday or not. Hope you find something you like.
