One of my favorite things about boyfriend jeans is styling them with girly pieces. You can’t get any girlier than florals, polka dots and a pink statement necklace. Plus, I’ve been having a crazy affair with pastel pink lately… and I’m not even a pink person. This necklace also comes in six other colors.
How do you like to style your boyfriend jeans?

Apparently, the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter, but I’m over it, so today I give you another spring look. You can’t go wrong with paisley for spring, so I chose to feature this floral paisley scarf from Groopdealz. It’s only $7 and comes in two styles! I love the idea of little denim dresses for spring weather with sandals or cute flats. I also added a little Valentine’s Day touch with this cupid bracelet.

Shop Today’s Groopdealz Pick: Alyssa Messenger Bag
Monday, January 27th, 2014Product Information: Alyssa Messenger bag from Groopdealz | MOTO jeans from Topshop | Bird Plait Neck Top from Oasis | Triple Ice Chain Strand from BaubleBar | Coral heels from Modcloth
I know Sneauxmageddon Part II is supposed to hit tomorrow, but the warm weather yesterday just made me so excited for spring. I’m ready for crawfish, Abita Strawberry, Girl Scout cookies, and sitting outside in the sun. And this Oasis blouse is spring on a shirt! It’s absolutely perfect (plus I have a weird obsession with anything with birds on it).
I also thought the girly vibe of the top went so well with this Alyssa Messenger bag from Groopdealz (also comes in black, orange, red, turquoise, and white!) and these coral-pink heels from Modcloth. This whole outfit is so girly and cute, and I love it!

How to wear a dress that’s too short
Tuesday, January 21st, 2014Product Information: Dress: Target (old) | Skirt: Groopdealz (similar here and here) | Boots: BCBG | Wool Floppy Hat: Salt & Pepper Accessory Boutique (similar here and here) | Statement Necklace c/o Accessory Mercado
I got this little ruffled black dress from Target a few years back in college. I’m not sure if it’s because I weighed 10 pounds less or because my morals were more questionable at the time, but either way that dress is way too dang short to wear now.
I really like its ruffles and didn’t want to get rid of it in my major closet clean out before my move South, so I kept it and decided to pair it under a longer skirt to make it more appropriate. I think the trick when layering a skirt over a dress is to make sure the skirt is loose fitting so that the dress isn’t visible under the skirt. In this case, the thicker fabric of the skirt helped to hide the ruffles and lace even better.
Other tips for styling a dress that’s too short:
- Pair it with leggings or tights
- Wear flats or kitten heels
- Wear a layering dress under it
Do you have other ideas for wearing a dress that’s too short? Please do tell!

Groopdealz Picks: Palazzo Pants for Work
Monday, January 20th, 2014Product Information: Cable Knit Sweater from The Outnet (similar at lower price from Old Navy | Palazzo Pants from Groopdealz | Reva Ballet Flats from Tory Burch | Bag from Modcloth | Statement Necklace from Groopdealz
Even though I’m not at work today, I wanted to create a work outfit that focused on staying comfy. Wearing palazzo pants is like wearing the work-appropriate version of sweat pants. And I’m totally ok with cheating the dress code. I paired these bright-printed pants with a cozy knitted top and flats with a statement necklace to dress it up a bit for the work place.
I hope you enjoy your holiday. I have a full day of errands, lesson plans, and blogging! Keep up with SF on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

One of my new year’s resolutions (yes, we’re still talking about those things) was to post more outfit posts. I have a few coming up that I cannot wait to share. But at the same time, I wanted to go back to my roots and post more outfit collages. When I started SF in 2010 (it’s almost my 4th bloggy birthday!), most of my posts were styled collages. The funny thing is that some of my older posts seem to be my most popular even years later (like this and this). So considering what YOU guys like, I decided to bring back more!

Anyway, as always make sure you check out today’s amazing sales on Groopdealz. I recently got the Milan Crystal Necklace in black and I love it. It’s so fancy and for $6.99 you really can’t pass it up!
