Originally called Swedish Pecan Balls, Pecan Cookie Balls — or whatever you’d like to call them (Martha Stewart has a version called Noel Nut Balls). These little cookies are so simple to make and the perfect holiday treat because they look like little snowballs — plus, they’ve got that extra Louisiana flair with the pecans. Check out my Louisiana Pecan Balls recipe below!
My grandmother always made these cookies around the holidays, so when it came to entering cookie contests of course going to her was a no brainer. I’m pretty sure she actually made them, but don’t tell the judges that. Together we kicked those other second graders’ butts.
But today, I tried them myself and they turned out just like I remember!
The good thing about these pecan ball cookies is they’re super simple and take very few ingredients — most of which you probably already have. So if you need one more sweet to add to your life this holiday, this is a good go to!
Ingredients:
1 cup ground pecans
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
powdered sugar
How To Make Them:
Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl except for the powdered sugar.
Mix well; shape into balls (size of walnuts).
Place on a cookie sheet and bake for about 30 minutes or until light brown.
Roll in powdered sugar while hot and again when cooled.
What’s your go-to holiday treat??

These are my all-time favorite cookies to eat, but I never had a recipe for them…that is, until now!
