Originally called Swedish Pecan Balls, Pecan Cookie Balls — or whatever you’d like to call them (Martha Stewart has a version called Noel Nut Balls). These little cookies are so simple to make and the perfect holiday treat because they look like little snowballs — plus, they’ve got that extra Louisiana flair with the pecans. Let me start by saying this is an AWARD WINNING recipe! I entered the 2nd grade cookie contest at Drew Elementary school with these bad boys and WON! It’s probably one of my biggest accomplishments to date, so I wanted to make sure I shared while you’re getting your holiday baking on.

My grandmother always made these cookies around the holidays, so when it came to entering cookie contests of course going to her was a no brainer. I’m pretty sure she actually made them, but don’t tell the judges that. Together we kicked those other second graders’ butts.

But today, I tried them myself and they turned out just like I remember!

The good thing about these pecan ball cookies is they’re super simple and take very few ingredients — most of which you probably already have. So if you need one more sweet to add to your life this holiday, this is a good go to!
