Monday, January 1
Grab a Bloody Mary for National Bloody Mary Day — hopefully it will cure your NYE hangover (because it’s also National Hangover Day — go figure). Be ready to go by noon though for the LSU x Notre Dame game in the Citrus Bowl!

It’s the LAST week to go Ice Skating on the River! The Raising Canes River Center has transformed into an iceskating rink through Saturday, Jan. 7. Tickets are only $12 – check out available time slots here.

LSU Men’s Basketball is playing Kentucky at 7:30PM at the PMAC!

Party with a Purpose at Cane Land Distilling Co! Celebrate the progress and heroism of Deputy Nick Tullier, who was shot July 17, 2016 on the line of duty and is still fighting on the road to recovery. Your $25 donation to enter goes to Nick. There will be live music, local food for purchase AND 20% of ALL drink purchase proceeds are going back to the family as additional donations. Get in FREE to the LSU Museum of Art downtown for the first FREE Sunday of the month! Currently on view: “Broken Time: Sculpture by Martin Payton, “Bonjour | Au Revoir Surréalisme: Prints from the Atelier of Georges Visat” and “Art in Louisiana: Views into the Collection.” Hit up brunch before or after downtown at Capital City Grill — that chicken buscuit is preeeetty good, y’all!

Today kicks off weekend-long events for The Louisiana Marathon! The expo will be on the first floor of the Raising Canes River Center from 11AM – 7PM. Then there’s a new Louisiana Shakeout Rum Run that starts outside the River Center at 7PM and finishes at Caneland Distillery (they’re releasing more info on this soon!) It’s LOUISIANA MARATHON DAY! The race starts at 7AM at the Louisiana State Museum and ends at the Finish Festival Grounds. This will be my first Half Marathon, but last year I wrote an entire post on 5 Things To Do If You’re NOT Running the Marathon. Come out regardless! It will be SO much FUN!!

EatBR Restaurant Week kicks off TODAY! Enjoy 3-course meals at 50+ of Baton Rouge’s best restaurants for a fraction of the cost from January 15-20! No tickets are necessary but reservations are recommended as places are expected to book up! When you arrive, just ask for the Restaurant Week menu to take part in the 3-course menus.
