Looking for the perfect clear game day bag to carry into the football stadium? Try this easy DIY that only takes about 20 minutes! It’s stadium-approved and only about $15!

I’ve got plenty of crossbody bags laying around in my closet, but the clear bag is unchartered territory for me.Usually, my game day consist of tailgating all day long, then heading to a local bar or restaurant to watch the actual game.

Since I’m not a student, I don’t actually attend all that many games anymore. SO with that said, I can’t really justify spending too much money on a clear game day bag.

So to solve that problem I turned a cosmetic bag into the perfect stadium-approved game day purse for around $15 and in about 20 minutes.

 

What You Need:

• Cosmetic Bag (I got this exact one on Amazon Prime for $6)
• Vinyl Letter Stickers (Another Amazon Prime purchase for $5.99. Grab ’em here)
• Two packages of 36 inch chain (or 5-6 ft total)
• Two jump rings
• A pair of pliers

Instructions:

Step 1: Pick Your Phrase.

Figure out what you want your phrase to be and cut out your letters. I went with “Gameday Vibes” because I wanted it to be football/tailgating themed.

I cut my letters out first instead of peeling them off just so I could gauge how much space I would need on the bag. You know… to make it as centered as possible and to make sure it would all fit!

Step 2: Stick Your Letters On.

I did my best to get them in the middle and fairly straight — which is way harder than you would think! Either way, I think the slight crookedness makes it a little more quirky anyway.

Step 3: Add your chain.

I used two packages of gold chain (each 36 in long). Before I could put the chain on the bag, I had to add the two jump rings.

Since this was a cosmetic bag, I didn’t have much to work with as far as where to connect the chain to the bag.

I poked a small hole in the gold fabric part under the zipper (using a needle) and looped a ring on each side.

Then, I connected the chain. You can take out length depending on how long or short you want your bag to be.

And that’s it! A easy game day bag that’s unique to you! Pop in your wallet, keys and phone and you’re good to go!

For a little bit of extra game day flair, add a purple tassel or pom keychain!
