For this DIY project, I took inspiration from Studio DIY’s Floating Glitter Tumbler and added a Louisiana twist! When it comes to parades and Mardi Gras, go-cups are a must. This way you’ll have your very own original tumbler that you can fill with whatever you’d like for the parade route! Making this DIY Mardi Gras Confetti Go-Cup is as easy as having some confetti (or glitter!), a tumbler and water!
Total Time: 5 Minutes
You’re looking at spending more time getting the supplies than it takes to actually make! In fact, it will probably take you longer to make your drink than the cup! :)
To start, you’ll need confetti of your choice (I got mine at Hobby Lobby), a photo tumbler with straw (I got mine here through Amazon Prime), and water (I got mine from my kitchen sink).
1- Unscrew the bottom of the tumbler and remove paper. This tumbler is used for photos, so it’s double walled.
2- With the tumbler upside down, sprinkle in confetti. (Sprinkle is a kind word — you may need to shove it depending on how big your confetti is. Don’t worry it will still float around!)
3- Once you have your desired about of confetti, fill the outer part of the tumbler with water.
4- Swirl cup around and watch your confetti float!
5- Make a drink to go!
It’s so fun! And just as a side note… I made mine about a week ago and it’s still holding water just fine without any leaking. I was worried about the water seeping out the bottom, but these photo tumblers are serious!
