Good morning! Today I’m sharing my photos from Salzburg, Austria! It’s definitely one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been. My inner old lady loved it! It’s a quiet little city with amazing postcard views everywhere you turn, especially as you walk over the bridges, look over at the Bavarian Alps, or climb the hills or twirl on the hilltops!
We started the first morning by taking the cable rail to the top of the Salzburg castle because we were already exhausted from climbing millions of steps and hills in Prague. But up there we found literally the best place in the world to enjoy a beer and pretzel…
It was also Fourth of July, so I got to represent Hey, Penelope in my red, white, and blue ‘Louisiana’ tank! After the castle we really embraced our inner old ladies and went on the Sound of Music tour… Happy Fourth of July to us indeed! (By the way, the BEST part of Salzburg was that we could watch Sound of Music every night in our hotel at 8 p.m.!)
On our second day we started off by visiting the cutest little sidewalk café called Café Tomaselli where we enjoyed coffee and Mozart cake. We mostly spent this day wandering around the rest of the city shopping at the markets along the river and then hiking up another hill to our favorite beer garden of the trip. The Augustiner beer garden is quite the cultural experience where you grab your mugs, rinse them out and then they’re slung back to you overflowing with a liter of beer.
If you’d like to see more photos from our trip, you can see them on my Instagram and on our hashtag #LesMagsDoEurope14. Tomorrow I’ll be back with photos from Munich!
