Good morning! I returned from my two-week Europe trip late Saturday night, so as I recover from my jetlag and get my blog running back to normal, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from the trip. Today I wanted to share our first stop, which was Prague! Prague got off to a rocky start with the cold and rain and no luggage for a day, but it quickly turned around and became one of my favorite European cities that I’ve visited! It had amazing views, lots of culture and delicious food, and my friend Maggie and I were pretty nonstop trying to experience it all.
We played typical tourists seeing all the big spots like Old Town Square, the Powder Tower, the Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and the Charles Bridge (at night and day, of course). We even took our tourist game up a level and rented Segways and swan paddle boats!
It didn’t take us long to discover “trdelnik”, which is a cylinder donut style sweet bread cooked in Prague- you could smell it everywhere! It’s covered in cinnamon and sugar, and it’s seriously the best thing I ate the whole trip (even though the fried schnitzel is a close second). If you get to visit Prague, eat like 10 of these for me!
One of the prettiest places to see was the Wallenstein Garden, which was literally hidden between buildings in Prague. It was full of fountains, Greek statues and roaming peacocks!
And we couldn’t go to Europe without trying all the beers from local breweries… and all the pretzels (so many pretzels). We did, however, watch the US vs Belgium World Cup game at the most American place we could find- Hooters.
If you’d like to see more photos from our trip, you can see them on my Instagram and on our hashtag #LesMagsDoEurope14. Tomorrow I’ll be back with photos from Salzburg-prettiest place ever!
