How To Quickly Clean Your Rings At Home

Today I wanted to share how I clean my wedding ring quickly at home with ingredients I already have on hand.

I like to clean my ring once every other week. I’m pretty good about taking my ring off when doing things that would get it dirty (like putting on lotion, applying makeup, cooking, etc), but I still like to clean it often to keep it extra sparkly. And I can sooo tell the difference in the shine level after I clean it!

All you need is:

Warm Water

Windex

Dawn Soap

Bowl or Cup

Tooth Brush

Start with a cup of warm water and add in 5-10 squirts of Windex, along with a small drop of Dawn soap.

I did some research and found out Windex is totally safe for your rings, and it’s good for removing the day-to-day dirt build up. My wedding ring is gold, so do some research on your metal/gemstone to make sure it’s safe!

Once I have my cleaning mixture, I let the ring soak 10-20 minutes. But honestly, I’ve dipped it in when I’m in a hurry and it gets shiny super quick.

I use a toothbrush to VERY gently clean around the diamonds.

I also like to loop the ring on the toothbrush so I can rinse it safely. Also: don’t forget to plug the drain — just in case!

On my wedding day, I cleaned all my bridesmaids’ rings for them and they were all SO shiny after! It was a fun thing to do for them while we were all getting ready.
