Meet Kayle Riccobono, the Louisiana Cool Mom + Baton Rouge beauty and fashion blogger of From Rouge With Love!

Her blog’s main focus is fashion and beauty, but every once in a while she’ll throw in a few kid-related posts, starring her 5-year-old daughter Giuliana (or GG) and her 2-year-old son Michael.

She was inspired to start blogging after having her first child, GG, in 2012. This was around the same time she started following other bloggers and Instagrammers.

She started From Rouge With Love in January 2017, but actually had two other blogs prior.

Originally, she was intrigued by seeing girls just like her posting photos of their latest clothing finds and beauty products — and making a full-time salary out of it.

“Since then, I have learned so much and that it isn’t just about posting a photo,” Kayle said. “There is SO much time and work that goes into this incredible job!”

Today, we’re virtually sitting down with Kayle to find out how she balances mom life + blog life.

Tell us what a typical day looks like as a full-time blogger + mom.

For the most part, our day is the same. Wake up, get everyone fed, and since I work from home, we have lots of play time. I attempted homeschooling GG this year, but that wasn’t for us. We love going to Highland Road Park, especially this time of the year when the water park is turned on.

How do you balance mom life and blogger life on a daily basis?

How do I do it?! Haha it is tough to be honest. When I am essentially working for multiple people at one time and there are deadlines every week, it can get overwhelming. I am very thankful for my husband. He definitely helps with the kids at night, so I can get some work done!

How do your kids inspire the content you create as a blogger?

Well, Miss GG definitely likes fashion and makeup. I love letting her pick her own outfits, and I’ll occasionally let her wear a little makeup at home. Her free spirit really reminds me that it’s OK to be different and to try new looks.

You share a good bit of your personal day on Instastory. How do you choose what you share about your kids and what you keep private?

Obviously, my followers are here for my fashion and beauty, but I feel like Instastories is where I can show my every day life, which my kids are my life! I definitely don’t share all the personal moments, but I love sharing little bits of their personalities.

What advice can you give to moms who want to share their lives with kids on social media?

Life with kids can be messy and chaotic but also fun and beautiful. Share the moments you feel like sharing and don’t stress about looking like you have your sh*t together. Lord knows I definitely don’t!

What’s your favorite part about being a mom?

Everyday has its highs and lows, but no matter what, these little cuties love you unconditionally. I love watching GG and Michael play together and the relationship they are forming at such young ages. Their laughs when they do something that is totally not funny, but it makes them belly laugh so hard all you can do is laugh too. I love the neck hug I get throughout the day even though they kind of hurt. Ha!

What are your favorite Baton Rouge spots and events to bring your kids?

We honestly love Highland Road Park! The kids also love District Donuts for a little sweet snack.

What’s your best advice for a mom who wants to find the time to start a blog?

Just start! There are never enough hours in a day and there will always be something that comes up, but if you blog about something you’re truly passionate about, you will find the time to make it work.
