Mix Up Your Workout Routine with these FOUR Exercises

How are those King Cake calories treating your waistline? I’d like to say I’m still working on my sweater weather body, but now that I’ve officially started booking spring and summer trips, I’m realizing we’ll be in swimsuits in NO time! (um…slightly panicking!) To help us all out, I teamed up with Jada of Martial Arts & Fitness, located in Central, LA, so she could share some alternate workout routines that you can do from anywhere! So whether you’re bored with your regular workouts or can’t find time to hit the gym, you can try these four exercises to work ALL parts of your body. So keep those King Cake calories in check (especially if you’re doing my 30-Day King Cake Challenge!) and stay on track with your New Year’s Resolutions — no equipment needed! Try each exercise for one minute each and complete four rounds.

Exercise 1: Plank Jack Push Up

1- Start in straight arm plank position.
2- Hop out into a jack.
3- Hop back in, and keep elbows tight for a triceps push-up.

Exercise 2: Surrender Squat Jump

1- Start standing with hands behind your head.
2- Lower to right knee, then left knee.
3- Step up with left foot, the right foot. Squat and jump.

Exercise 3: Single Leg Squat Leg Lift

1- Balancing on left leg, hinge at your waist and extend both arms forward and right leg back.
2- Bend your left knee, then slowly come up to standing.
3- Alternate sides.

Exercise 4: Rainbow Tap Elbow Plank

1- In elbow plank, lift your right leg and cross over to the outside of your left foot.
2- Alternate sides.

Again you’ll do each set for one minute each, 4 exercises 4 rounds

BONUS! Exercise 5: Try something NEW!

It’s easy to get stuck in a boring fitness rut. If you find yourself there, try something NEW like kickboxing, swimming, trail running, or even martial arts. Martial Arts & Fitness offers both kids and adult Jiu jitsu classes, in addition to many other group exercise classes like barre, pilates, body shred, kickboxing, and power sculpt.

I personally prefer group exercise classes over hitting the gym alone. Not only do scheduled classes keep me more on track with actually going to the gym, but it’s also way more motivating to have other people in the class powering through with you!

Um, yea definitely gonna be sore after trying this routine! So many thanks to Jada for sharing four workout routines that we can do from anywhere!
