Baton Rouge On Tap Craft Beer Festival

Coming out of the Christmas holidays, it’s crazy to think we’re now less than a month from Valentine’s Day! Here in Louisiana, you know February 14 can get a little overshadowed by Mardi Gras, but right in the midst of the two this year is another BIG day to look forward to — the Baton Rouge on Tap Craft Beer Festival! Not only does this event make the PERFECT Valentine’s Day gift AND date idea, but you can even win two tickets at the end of this post!

So what is the Baton Rouge On Tap Craft Beer Festival?

This year marks the second annual Baton Rouge On Tap Craft Beer Festival. It will be held at the River Center on Saturday, February 18 from 2-5PM — just one weekend after Valentine’s Day.

Breweries from all over the country take over the River Center’s arena and you get to spend three hours sampling as many beers as you’d like!

In fact, you can taste over 130 different beers from 65 breweries all over the country, including some of our favorites from right here in Louisiana like Tin Roof, Abita, Bayou Teche and Mudbug Brewery. (See full list here)

Last year’s event was held the day before Valentine’s Day, so Conrad and I gifted ourselves tickets to the beer festival as our Valentine’s date. We’re not really the fancy dinner date couple, so unlimited beer samplings seemed more our style. I guess you can say we bonded while we stood in line for beer! Lol.

Overall, it was a ton of fun and we’ve already been waiting for it to come back into town. We ended up seeing lots of people we knew and got to add SO many beers to our Untappd App!

If you’re not familiar with Untappd, it’s a way to log the beers that you drink, so when you taste something delicious that you love, you can remember it for next time. I love using this app when I’m traveling, but it works great for beer festivals as well. That way when you leave the River Center you can remember all your favorite beers!
