My Top 5 Favorite Things from OneofaKind Baton Rouge Fashion Week 2015
OneofaKind Baton Rouge Fashion wrapped up this past weekend, and today I’m sharing my top 5 favorite things from the week’s events! Huge thank you to the OBRFW team for inviting me and putting on a great show!
1. The Perfectly Taylored Collection- Local designer and LSU student, Peyton Simms debuted her tees and tanks line, Perfectly Taylored, at the BIG night on Saturday. The models wore the designs with phrases like “I’m on the champagne diet” and “macaroons and mimosas” with the cutest little tulle tutus. They even danced down the runway when it was over! Super cute and went with the vibe of the collection perfectly.
2. Balloonatic Fashions- So picture balloon animals, but entire dresses made out of balloons! This definitely wins the award for coolest and most unique design during fashion week. I got to watch one being made before the BARE show and it was incredible- it even had a zipper! I was blown away by how neat and detailed the designs were… and how long they last! You’ll have to check out more photos in the gallery below. I’ve got my eye on this for Halloween!
3. BARE Show- The BARE show was new this year to OBRFW. Models went without makeup and showed a little more skin than usual. The atmosphere was fun with great music- I mean, the DJ even played R. Kelly “Bump N’ Grind”- Hah!
4. Annie Claire headbands with Cupani Fashion- Cupani Fashion, based out of Little Rock, was all about the crochet. My favorites were the pieces where she combined the crochet and the leather details. Add in the pastel colors and floral headbands by Annie Claire designs and you get me so excited for spring!
5. For Kids by Kids- This was obviously the most adorable show of the week! The kids picked out their own outfits and did their own hair for the show and even picked the music! I was expecting most of the kids (especially the younger ones) to be really shy when it came to walking down the runway, but, y’all… those kids could work it!
