Today, I’m sharing why I use a 30-Day Planner. I’m giving you all the benefits of monthly planners over an annual planner, plus sharing why and how I created the planner I needed the most. Plus, you’re able to get your hands on one when you join Goals With Action!
The Benefits Of A 30-Day Planner
There’s something so satisfying about filling up a planner, right? Now imagine doing that every single month.
30-day planners last for just one month, so January is whole planner, February is its own planner, March is another one… and so on. You use 12 planners in one year instead of one big annual planner.
I love starting a new planner at the beginning of each month because it gives me so much clarity on exactly what I’ve got to accomplish that month.
In the Goals With Action planners I’ve designed, I re-write my annual goals, my priorities, my routines, and the habits I’m trying to implement each and every month.
I find it much harder to get off track when I’m using a monthly planner vs an annual planner.
Or if I do happen to fall off the wagon, it’s easy to start a month fresh with no regrets. (aka no empty pages haunting you).
I’ve never seen another 30-day planner (nor do I even know if there are other 30-day planners other than the ones I have created). So today I’m talking ALL about my specific Goals With Action Planner.
Why I Created My Own Planner
I use to be a planner junkie. But I think I was a planner junkie and collector because I could never find one planner that did everything I needed.
It seemed every planner was just a way to either make my to-do list, remember my appointments or look at my week or days at a glance.
I needed something that wouldn’t just remind me what to do, but that would force me to GROW and EVOLVE throughout the year.
I set pretty big goals at the beginning of the year, so I needed something that would keep me on track and that I could see my progress each month at a time.
I have found other goal setting planners or productivty-focused planners that I love, but quarterly or annual planners just seemed to give me anxiety looking at SO much at once. The shorter planners seem to work best for my personal progress and benchmarks.
I had very limited time, so I knew I needed to focus on the most important stuff only.
I created my 30-day planners (one sheet for each day) with some goal setting stuff and a habit tracker pages thrown in — all in a Google Doc. I printed it out, punched holes in it and stuck it in a folder. I’d complete one month, then file it away and print another one. Rinse & repeat.
It was so simple (and ugly). But it was LIFE-CHANGING for me. It got the job done. It made me focus on my priorities. I can say my planners are one of (if not the) main reason I was able to grow my business like I did while having a full time teaching job.
Fast-forward to 2019, and I’ve had these planners professionally designed and created - and they’ve become the backbone to my Goals With Action Program.
Goals With Action + The Planner
Goals With Action is my goal setting + planning program designed for busy business women who want to grow. They want to stop “running” their business — and instead focus on growing their business.
The program has 5 modules where I walk you step-by-step through the goal setting process, and we break our goals down in every step possible and ultimately create a detailed road map for ourselves and for our year.
Then we do a lot of mindset work on confusion, overwhelm, fear of failure, procrastination (and any other negative emotion that goes into goal setting… there are a lot!)
But it’s not like you go through this program and then forget about it. Because the planner aligns perfectly with what you learn in the program - and you are in action EVERY SINGLE DAY. You practice what you’ve learned and make progress on your goals every day with the planner.
You never question what you should be working on. You’ve mapped it all out in the modules and lessons in the program - and the planners help guide you through GETTING IT DONE!
