3 Game Day Hair Styles – Perfect For Tailgating!
Today, I’m sharing 3 Game Day Hair Styles – Perfect For Tailgating… cause you know LSU football season is HOT!
That’s where my friend Ashley Amedee comes in! She’s a local hair stylist and cosmetologist at Jolie Vous Salon — and a member of the Southern Flair Happy Hour Club. She came up with a few game day styles for us, and she’s giving us the play-by-play!
The Chain Gang Braid
START WITH A LOW SIDE PONY
On the heavy side of your hair part, bring your hair over for a low side ponytail. Divide the pony tail in half. Flip your ponytail through the division. If you have a topsytail you can use it to pull your hair through seamlessly.
BRAID IN SECTIONS
Divide the ponytail into two sections and begin a fishtail braid for about 3 inches down (depending on the length of your hair). Secure with a small elastic band. Then, take a small piece of hair from the underneath of the remaining pony and wrap around to cover the elastic. Secure with a bobby pin going upward through the braid to hide it.
Repeat the last 2 steps until you have about 4 or 5 inches remaining. Once completely secure, rough up the sections of the fishtail braid.
ACCESSORIZE
Slide in some hair clips for a little extra fun on the back of your hair. Here’s a 20-piece set for under $10 on Amazon.
The Touchdown Pony
START WITH STRAIGHT OR CURLED HAIR
This style can be done with straight or curled hair (we chose to go with curls). Before you put it in a pony, give the hair on top of your head a light tease just to add a little lift.
PUT IT IN A PONY
On the crown of the head secure her with a pony tail holder. Hide the elastic band by wrapping a small piece of hair from the underneath of the pony and secure it with a bobby pin. Be sure to secure it from the bottom so that no pins are shown.
GIVE IT A TEASE & MAKE IT HIGHER
Lightly tease the pony section of the hair close to the elastic to add extra lift. To make the pony stand up higher, use a hair pin by inserting it from the underneath of the tail straight down and into the center of the elastic band.
The Heisman Topknot
START WITH A PONY
Start with your hair straight or curled, give the hair on top of your head a light tease just to add a little lift. Pull your hair up in a ponytail on the crown of the head. Secure her with a pony tail holder and lightly tease the ponytail.
WRAP IT UP
Give the teased pony a slight twist and begin to wrap the hair around the ponytail holder. Once hair is completely wrapped, use a bobby pin to secure the bottom of the pony, being sure it is hidden. Use hair pins to secure around the top knot (I only used 4 hair pins).
ACCESSORIZE
Jazz this topknot up with funky hair clips. These are super fun from Amazon.
