Not only does the New Orleans-based lip company Lipscape have you covered when it comes to bold winter lip color, but also for protection against winter weather.
Ingrid Butler founded Lipscape while attending Syracuse University as she worked on her doctorate in geography. The harsh northern winter took a toll on her lips, and regular lip moisturizers weren’t cutting it.
Even when she returned home to Louisiana, her condition didn’t improve.
After a trip to the dermatologist and trying out a prescribed topical steroid, she was still not satisfied. It was then that she took action and began researching natural ingredients to help her lip condition.
She discovered that most lip products only hydrate the top layer of skin and she needed a product that was deeply moisturizing and regenerative.
Ingrid was able to formulate a lip conditioner that worked wonders on her lips right from her home, so Lipscape was born!
Lipscape’s Winter Collection includes bold shades like dark teal, plum, deep indigo, maroon, chocolate brown and more deep but vibrant colors.
If you don’t want to go big and bold all the time, I’ve been wearing the Yukon (a mid-tone brown) and Kara (a sheer pinky nude) on a daily basis. These colors are lighter and great for every day wear while still protecting my lips against the cold weather!
