This might be the easiest DIY to date! It’s inexpensive and makes a festive tablescape or just adds a little Mardi Gras flair to your home during Carnival season. My sequin trees are currently sitting in the middle of my dining room table to give the kitchen area a little purple, gold and green — in addition to the MANY King Cakes that are making their way into my house.  Check out how to make this SUPER EASY DIY Mardi Gras Sequin Tree below!

To start, you’ll need Styrofoam Cones in various sizes (like these from Michaels), Mardi Gras sequin trim (I found mine at Hobby Lobby) and a glue gun! And that’s it!

Start by adding glue around the bottom of the cone, then wrap the trim while pressing down.

Keep making your way up the cone with the glue — making sure to overlap the trim just a bit with each layer.

Once you’re all the way to the top, cut the excess trim, leaving about an extra inch. Glue that piece down to cover the tip of the cone!

And that’s it! Super easy and only took a few minutes!
The hardest part for me was remembering to turn off the hot glue gun! I found it two weeks later… still ON! Oops! I know that stressed a few of you out on my Instastory!! Haha I will definitely work on being a more reliable home owner!
