Thursday, February 1

The Bengal Tap Room’s Grand Opening Party is tonight from 6PM – 2AM! They’re the newest sports bar downtown on Third Street (in the old Draft House location) with 40 beers on tap and a menu with hamburgers, chicken wings and cheese fries(!!!). More info here!

Friday, February 2

It’s Groundhog Day – (but who cares really because it’s also Mardi Gras!)

The Krewe of Artemis Parade is downtown starting at 7PM. This is Baton Rouge’s first and only ALL female Krewe! See the parade route here.

Saturday, February 3

The Krewe of Mystique rolls downtown starting at 2PM. See the parade route here.

***Hang out downtown ALL day because….

The Krewe of Orion rolls downtown starting at 6:30PM. This year’s theme is “Orion’s Time Travels”, so floats will be decorated to depict a travel through time. See the route here.

Sunday, February 4

It’s Super Bowl Sunday!! But first… parades!

The first annual Mid City Gras parade will run through Mid-City starting at North Blvd and ending at Baton Rouge Community College. The parade starts at 1PM. More info here.

Monday, February 5

Channel your inner artist AND your embrace your love for wine at tonight’s Painting & Pinot Social Painting Class. They’re getting festive with this Mardi Gras Bead Tree! Reserve your seat here.

Tuesday, February 6

The Blues Festival Release Party is at Driftwood Cask & Barrel from 6-8PM! They’re sharing the 2018 lineup, plus you can win VIP tickets! Drink specials include $1 off pints, $2 off pitchers, $2 off cocktails, $5 Sazeracs and $5 Beyonce cocktails! More info here.

Wednesday, February 7

The Melting Pot is hosting its Anti-Valentines Girl’s Night Out from 5-10PM. Each month they offer a four-course fondue experience of a cheese fondue, a fresh salad, a sampler entrée and any chocolate fondue dessert for $24.95 per person!
They also offer $6 martinis: choose between the Classic Martini, Cosmopolitan, Big Apple Martini, Lemon Drop Martini or Classic Margarita. More info here.

Learn calligraphy with Margaret Corley at Blackbird Letterpress from 6:30 – 8:30. In this beginner class, you will learn the basics of the dip pen and the lowercase alphabet in modern calligraphy. They’ll also cover different types of supplies and where you can purchase them. Grab your seat here.

The 31st Krewe of Southdowns Parade rolls at 7PM, rain or shine, in the Southdowns Neighborhood. Children and pets are welcome! See the parade route here.

Hands down my FAVORITE day in Baton Rouge! It’s Spanish Town Parade Day!! Grab your pink and flamingos and head downtown EARLY Saturday morning! The parade rolls at noon – see the full route here! Hang out and PARTAY the rest of the day on Third Street!

Sunday, February 11

It’s National Make a Friend Day, so you’re invited to join the Southern Flair Happy Hour Club! This is a local group of young women who meet up monthly for drinks and networking! It’s really laid back and casual and if you’re looking to find new besties and to try new local places join us here!

Monday, February 12

It’s Lundi Gras, but if you’re hanging around Baton Rouge, Red Stick Spice is hosting a Tea 101 class. Join Anne and staff for this fun and informative talk and tasting on tea. They will explore the world of tea and taste different types including black, green, white, oolong, mate and herbal. Bistro Byronz and Cat Haven are teaming up to raise money for the no-kill cat rescue organization form 5-9PM. Bistro Byronz Mid City will donate a portion of food sales to Cat Haven. Patrons can dine in, order to go, and order delivery through Waitr to participate in the fundraiser.
