Thursday, June 1

It’s Ladies Night at The Pelican House every Thursday! Get $5 martinis starting at 7PM.

Friday, June 2

 It’s National DONUT Day! And Tiger Deaux-Nuts is hosting its RE-Grand Opening Party from 6AM – 3PM. Check out their FULL remodel and eat your way through donut day on their NEW menu. They’ll have 6+ specialty flavors + traditional flavors. You can also win FREE donuts for a YEAR!! Forget the swimsuit bod — I want free donuts.

LSU baseball plays at 2:30PM against Texas Southern in the regional tournament. Followed up by Southeastern Louisiana and Rice at 7PM.

Saturday, June 3

Celebrate PEACE FEST from 3PM – 10PM downtown. The festival has expanded to include healing energy therapy, acro yoga, hoopers, poi dancers, belly dancers, children’s activities, live art, live music, vendors, and vegetarian food offerings. Festival goers can enjoy a day full of tolerance, love and peace in family friendly environment.

It’s also Customer Appreciation Day at Tin Roof Brewing Co! AKA FREE CRAWFISH! They’re giving away 300lbs of crawfish starting at 2PM. Everybody gets one plate with three pounds of crawfish, potatoes and corn!


Batch 13 Biscuits opens in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!


Sunday, June 4

Try out the NEW Batch 13 Biscuits and Bowls (4957 Essen Lane) for Sunday brunch! This is a new fast-casual restaurant by Al Copeland (which owns Copeland’s New Orleans). Basically, they’ve taken the famous Copeland’s biscuits and made them EVEN BETTER. They open at 6:30AM every day of the week!

Monday, June 5

Bistro Byronz (Willow Grove) is teaming up with the Cat Haven for their Bistro for a Cause event. Bistro Byronz is donating 20% of your dine-in bill (and 10% for takeout) to the Baton Rouge Cat Haven. Just tell them you’re there for Cat Haven!

Tuesday, June 6

We’re substituting tacos for BBQ today! BRQ “BBQ” and Seafood is hosting its Grand Opening TODAY! They’re located at 10423 Jefferson Hwy. and you can find them on Facebook here!


SOMOS Bandidos hosts bike and taco night in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana


Wednesday, June 7

Grab your bike and head to Somos Bandidos downtown (303 North Blvd) for their Bikes and Tacos Night! All ages/skill level are welcome to come hang out, ride around on the levee and enjoy tacos. The bike ride leaves from Somos Bandidos at 6PM and they return for tacos around 7ish. More info here.

Thursday, June 8

It’s National Best Friends Day!!! I’ll be at Imagine Boutique (17066 Airline Hwy) for their second annual BFF celebration from 5-8PM. Crave Macarons will be there, plus there will be giveaways, extra sales and you can pick a discount when you check out! Jolie Vous Salon will have a braid bar on site AND there will be wine & cheese next door at Consign and Design.

Friday, June 9

If you haven’t gotten your Beauty and the Beast fix yet, the Theatre Baton Rouge’s Beauty and the Beast starts today! It runs through June 25, so you’ve got plenty of time to catch it. Tickets run around $30 and it starts at 2:00 and 7:30PM. More info hereThanks @sayrahdiane for the suggestion!

Saturday, June 10

It’s finally here! The Capital City Mac Fest is happening from 11AM – 3PM at Curbside Burgers. Taste Mac & cheese from each vendor and vote for your faves! See the full list here.

It’s also the Mid City Makers Market  – The Summer Vacation Edition. Shop small in Mid-City from 5 – 9PM.

Sunday, June 11

If you do Sunday Brunch, you can work it all off at the Yelp Fit Club 2017 Fitness Party from 2 – 6PM. Participate in fitness segments taught by some of our best local instructors. Workouts include aerial silks, acro yoga, ninja warrior, Dance X, boxing/kickboxing, barre, Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, Zumba and more. Plus, there will be snacks, door prizes, games, a Photo Booth, etc.! Tuesday, June 13

It’s National Bourbon Day! I had to ask Conrad’s advice on this one, but he suggested celebrating with a Driftwood Cask and Barrel Old Fashion.

The Bourbon Society of Baton Rouge (BSoBR) is also hosting a meet up at The Cove at 7pm.

Thursday, June 15

It’s HOT outside. Head to Rock N’ Pops at Perkins Rowe from 3-6PM for $3 popsicles!

Friday, June 16

Kick off your weekend with a brewery tour at Southern Craft Brewery. They have free tours every Friday night starting at 7PM.

Saturday, June 17

It’s National Eat Your Veggies Day! I prefer my veggies fried (lol), but what better way to do that than locally? Head to the Red Stick Farmer’s Market from 8AM – 12PM for fresh veggies and lots of local shopping.

Sunday, June 18

Happy Father’s Day! Dads love brunch too, so take him to The Chimes, Capital City Grill or The Gregory if you haven’t tried it yet!

It’s here! The second Happy Hour Club Meet Up! We’ll be at Kalurah Street Grill from 5 – 7PM for lots of fun and good conversation! Their happy hour includes half off wines (with more than 25 to choose from). It ends at 6, BUT they’re extending it for our group! Wanna learn how to create the perfect pastry at home? Of course, you do! Join April Hamilton in the kitchen at Red Stick Spice from 6 – 8PM for a hands-on cooking class. You’ll make a pan of biscuits and scones to take home. You can make yummy chocolate chip or pecan-ginger scones or try your hand at honey, cheese or garlic herb biscuits! Sold!! Wednesday, June 21

Happy OFFICIAL first day of Summer! Kick it off with a BEER TASTING at Radio Bar! Urban South Brewery (from New Orleans) will be there with samples of their new brews, including Charming Wit, Holy Roller IPA and Hello Darlin’ American Pale Ale. This event is FREE from 5 – 7 PM!

It’s National Onion Ring Day! Head to PoBoy Express, George’s or Pluckers for some of the best local onion rings! Just don’t plan on making out with anyone later – HA!

Friday, June 23

Have you had a snowball yet?? Head to one of the three Snoman Snowballs to have an official Louisiana snowball… because it’s not really summer until you do. Word on the street is they will put a full slice of cheesecake on top. CHEESECAKE ON A SNOWBALL, Y’ALL!!

Saturday, June 24

Grab a blanket and head out to Movies on the Lawn presented by The Baton Rouge Gallery and Forum 35 at City Park. This will be a silent film ‘La Boheme’ from 1926 with a live score by folk rock Minos the Saint. Tickets cost $7 and includes free popcorn! More info here.


District Donuts recently opened in Town Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana


Sunday, June 25

Is it really a Sunday Funday if there aren’t donuts involved? If you haven’t yet, try out the NEW District Donuts located in Town Center in the old Starbuck’s location.

Monday, June 26

Skip work because it’s National Canoe Day! That’s a good enough reason to play sick on a Monday, right? (You can thank me later). Rent/Buy/Bring a canoe and head to the LSU Lakes. Even if you don’t have a canoe, you’ll be skipping work and be happy enough!

Tuesday June 27

It’s National Pineapple Day! I’m going to highly suggest Bar Louie’s Diva Martini for this one. SKYY Pineapple, PAMA Liqueur, pomegranate syrup, AND fresh cut pineapple. It’s SO good. Go for Happy Hour and get half price apps!

Wednesday, June 28

It’s the 225 Hot Off the Press Party and it just so happens to be the most exciting one! The July issue will be released, which includes the 225 Best Of Winners. The party will be at Curbside Burgers from 6-9PM. RSVP and get more info here.

Rock-n-sake has Throw Back Thursdays with 80s music and half off martinis starting at 5:30PM!

Friday, June 30

And speaking of sushi… the NEW sushi place — Rock N’ Roll Sushi — on Jefferson Hwy FINALLY opened last month. Must get there ASAP!
