Last week, I challenged YOU to my style version of the Mannequin Challenge. Basically, when you go shopping, you try on the entire outfit that’s on the mannequin. It’s a way to try new trends and wear already put together looks that you may not have tried otherwise. It’s intended to get you out of your comfort zone while building your spring wardrobe the easy way. You can see the full details of the challenge here.

For week 1 of the style version of the Mannequin Challenge, I went with a bold, bright look. I loved this embroidery denim jacket and yellow mules! I paired them with a basic white top and blush pink denim skirt.
For the first week of the Mannequin Challenge, I wanted to incorporate more bolder, brighter colors into my spring look. Anyone else stick to mostly black and grey during the winter months? (*insert raising hand emoji*)

So now that the weather is warmer and the sun is staying out longer, I wanted some pops of yellow, pink and blue, which is exactly what I got with this look!

The original mannequin outfit included this dress with this denim jacket you see here. So since I am a rule abiding shopper, I tried on the entire look, but quickly realized the waist line of this dress was not my friend — nor was the length with my 5’2 body.

The rules don’t require me to BUY the entire outfit — just try it on. It’s a way to see what works and what doesn’t work with by body type and skin tone, so I considered that dressing room trip a success.

I left with this super fun  jacket and was obsessed with the embroidered floral detail. I knew it would add some fun pops of color into my otherwise basic looks.

I already had the blush denim skirt from my Valentine’s Day outfit, so I threw it on with this basic white Topshop top and new bomber jacket.

I wanted to add even more color, and it just so happened these yellow mules (for under $25) went perfectly with the yellow flower detail in the jacket!
