There will be a prize wheel, a $5 sale rack, a 50% off table and clothing rack, FREE lip balm with every purchase (while supplies last) AND every $75 purchase gets a FREE “Purple” tee.

Article & Thread (7809 Jefferson Highway, Suite C1) is also celebrating its GRAND OPENING starting at 3PM. You can read my full Q&A with the boutique owner here and sign up for the Louisiana Local Edition Newsletter for an exclusive discount to shop the grand opening event!

Brunch for a good cause today at the city-wide Baton Rouge Brunch For a Cure charity event that benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Participating restaurants will compete to see who can raise the most amount of money for the fight against breast cancer. You can see a full list of participating restaurants here.

Monday, March 6

Monday nights mean The Bachelor — are you team Vanessa or Raven? Stop by Rouse’s for a bottle of wine, pop some popcorn and let’s all just be sad that Corrine is gone.

Tuesday, March 7

It’s Taco Tuesday! Los Reyes Mexican Grill (11333 Coursey Blvd) recently took the place of the Las Palmas, so go check it out! It’s completely remodeled and the patio looks pretty awesome!

Looking for something fun and FREE to do on a Friday night? Southern Craft Brewing Co. offers free brewery tours every Friday night at 6PM and 7PM.

Saturday, March 11

Check out the Mid City Makers Market (541 South Eugene St) today from 2PM – 6PM! This is a way to shop small and support your local makers in a relaxed neighborhood setting. You can shop with some of your favorites like Mimosa Handcrafted, Wanderlust Abby and Chad Schoonmaker Art… and discover so many NEW talented local makers!

Finally! Daylight Saving Time is HERE! Hit up the Bulldog’s patio and enjoy the extra sunshine! They also now have Strawberry Canebrake on tap and it’s SO good.

Start off the new week with a new workout routine! Barre3 (3535 Perkins Rd, Suite 380) opened this winter and now is the perfect time to work off all those King Cake calories from Mardi Gras. Check their website to find a class that fits your schedule — there’s plenty of time slots to choose from!

Tuesday, March 14

Remember celebrating National Pi Day (3.14) in school? Well, let’s celebrate with real delicious pies today! Kick of St. Patty’s Day early at Tin Roof Brewing Co’s Pints for a Purpose event. They’ll have beer, food, live music,  more beer and a silent auction to benefit the Louisiana/Mississippi The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If you want to upgrade, you can get all you can drink and eat for $50.

Where else would we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Baton Rouge other than Happy’s Irish Pub? Green beer, Happy’s Hooligans, Irish Car Bombs, Guinness Pints — what more do we need? Oh, a live band!

Saturday, March 18

Next to Spanish Town, the Wearin’ of the Green Parade is my FAVORITE Baton Rouge parade. The St. Patrick’s-themed parade rolls today starting at Hundred Oaks and South Acadian at 10AM. Head to Uncle Earls after for a huge block party with food trucks, Geaux Dj, and bands like The Chee-Weez, The 17th Floor, and Band Camp!

Thursday, March 23

This is a BIG day, you guys. It’s National Chip & Dip Day AND National Puppy Day. You know what that means — chips and salsa + pups on a patio. Dreams do come true. And there’s no shortage of Mexican restaurant patios around Baton Rouge — I like Velvet Cactus, La Caretta and Lava Cantina all for their patio situations.

Friday, March 24

Fridays call for Happy Hour hoppin’ downtown. Start at Capital City Grill for $5 martinis and 1/2 priced apps (go for the Spinach and Artichoke dip!), then hop across the street for Stroube’s Happy Hour and dinner!
