Switching Closets

Confession time: I’m a slob. I’m super organized with school/work, but my bedroom and car are a mess. I always say when I clean my room that I will work extra hard to keep it that way. Yea right. So I’ve made it my 2013 New Year’s resolution to become more organized! So original, huh?? I’m seeking out many creative Pinterest ideas, so stay tuned to see me transform my incredibly messy self.

This all sounds SO promising. And it’s only January 5th. But so good so far!

The first thing I had to do was organize my closets. Bless the unlucky man who marries me. He will be allotted one drawer for all his belongings. The rest is mine. I currently have three closets, one Chester drawer, two armoires, another set of drawers AND a storage building. Yep. I have a whole other closet in my yard. It’s perfect for switching out seasonal clothes. This weekend I took out warm weather clothes to the outside closet and brought in coats, ponchos, sweaters, scarves and all.

The summer shoes had to go to make room for my boots. I believe I have around 200 pairs of shoes, so you can see why this is necessary to keep my sanity. I couldn’t stand not seeing all my shoe options at once. Sometimes I think I need to transform a whole wall into a shoe display. But that’s a whole other Pinterest project :)

Goodbye summer shoes!

Hello boots!
I’m considering buying some pool “noodles” to chop up and stick in boots to make them stand upright. Also saw that on Pinterest :)

I think I’ve made lots of progress so far. Let’s just hope it stays that way. Do you have tips on keeping your closet/shoes organized? Next, I need to work on purses…
